"No hour in life is wasted that is spent in the saddle." W. Churchill

Welcome to Philip Hager Equestrian,

Born in Munich in 1990 and raised in Vouliagmeni, an idyllic coastal town south of Athens, Greece, I discovered the fascinating bond between horse and rider from an early age. When we were young, my sister and I were allowed to ride school-horses occasionally, and at the age of eleven I began taking regular riding lessons at the local riding club. With time, I went on to achieve international success as a showjumping athlete, starting with the youth squads for children and later progressing to the juniors and young riders.

My career as a showjumping athlete was interrupted in 2013 due to personal obligations at the time. Up until that point, I had achieved placings at national level in Germany up to S*** and I participated at international level up to FEI 1.60.

During this time, I had the privilege to learn from various renowned trainers in Europe. From 2005 until 2008, I underwent several months of training with Ludger Beerbaum at his showjumping yard in Riesenbeck, Germany. Moreover, I trained at FWK Sporthorses in the Netherlands, and with Matteo Giunti in Italy.

From 2009 to 2012, I worked as a show rider, among others for Hengststation Bachl in Bavaria and later for the trading stable of Peter Weinberg (current coach of the Belgian olympic team) in Herzogenrath near Aachen.

Presently, I have dedicate my passion for equestrian sports to training ambitious showjumping athletes and scouting for talented showjumping horses.

Thank you for visiting,

Philip Hager
